Stay at our campground at our Nantahala Outpost. It is convenient, comfortable, and clean. Located in the Nantahala Gorge, it strikes a good balance between secluded and convenient.
A note about lodging in the NC Mountains: There are hundreds of great places to stay in our area. And, there are many great full service campgrounds. Our campground is not for everyone.
Our campground works great for three types of people:
- Experienced campers who are bringing their own tent and want to spend a night or two while they raft. You can use our inexpensive open field camping.
- Experienced campers who don't want to hassle with their tent, but can handle everything else. They can use one of our tents that we already have set up. This convenience cost a little more than open field camping.
- Apprehensive Campers can use our "Take Your Kids Camping." It is specifically designed for those who aren't really comfortable or experienced camping, but want to let their kids experience the unique adventure of camping at least once. Our camping guides are always on the campground with you and available for routine and non-routine needs. They assist you with most aspects of camping, including getting the campfire going. You'll use one of our tents that is already set-up. You and your kids enjoy the fun and unique adventure of camping with out all the hassles of setting up and without the fears and frustrations common to beginning campers going it alone. Click here for details on our "Take Your Kids Camping" program.
Our campground is close and convenient if you are rafting with us. Our campground is located at our Nantahala Outpost. It's 25 minutes from our Tuck Outpost.
Our campground is not for long-term camping. Campers generally stay one to three nights. It is not a full service campground. There is no electricity at campsites. We do have hot showers and bathrooms.
